Case Studies

  • Metering Infrastructure for RACV

Sustainability Wise spearheaded the implementation of advanced metering infrastructure across multiple RACV properties. From opportunity assessment and business case development to hardware design, installation, and commissioning, our end-to-end involvement ensured a seamless rollout. As-built documentation and quality assurance further enhanced project delivery. As a result, RACV gained detailed utility data, allowing for more strategic energy management and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Defence Metering Rollout (WA &NSW)

Working in close collaboration with EMOS and the Department of Defence, Sustainability Wise provided turnkey support for multi-utility metering installations across various estates. Our team managed everything from technical design to on-ground deployment, aligning the implementation with Federal Government EEGO Policy targets. The project enabled Defence to actively monitor and manage utility consumption across sites in Western Australia and New South Wales.

  • Waratah Battery Development

Sustainability Wise took on the role of Project Management for the Waratah Super Battery (valued over $1 Billion) —Australia’s most ambitious energy storage initiative. Responsibilities spanned across design review, contract procurement, and supplier management, ensuring streamlined delivery of this billion-dollar grid-stabilizing project. The project continues to support Australia’s transition to a resilient, renewables-led energy network.

  • Melbourne Water's Solar Farms

Sustainability Wise contributed project leadership for the ETP and Winneke Solar Farms, alongside the upgrade of the 89EH Switchroom. Managing planning, procurement, design coordination, construction oversight, and commissioning, our involvement ensured timely execution. These installations expanded Melbourne Water’s clean energy portfolio and helped reduce its reliance on non-renewable power sources.

  • DREESP Project

Our team led the DREESP initiative from inception, managing everything from vision setting and funding strategy to pipeline development and governance. By driving this national program across Defence bases, we enabled the successful delivery of energy-efficient and renewable projects that reduced costs, cut emissions, and boosted operational resilience across Defence facilities.

  • CSIRO Energy Efficiency Program

Sustainability Wise provided leadership in developing and executing a comprehensive energy efficiency roadmap for CSIRO. The initiative included energy and water audits, cost-benefit assessments, funding procurement, and deployment of solutions such as LED upgrades and HVAC system optimization. These efforts significantly reduced emissions and lowered operational costs across CSIRO’s properties.

  • National Submetering Program – Defence

Our team managed the implementation of the Defence SEG’s National Submeter Program, installing thousands of submeters and introducing a new Resource Data Management System (RDMS). From procurement and policy development to governance and post-installation support, our contribution enabled Defence to comply with EEGO Policy while gaining granular insights into energy and water usage across its estate.

  • CSIRO Submetering System Integration

We led the deployment of over 500 submeters across CSIRO sites, ensuring full integration with their centralized metering and data warehousing systems. By bridging operational data with strategic decision-making tools, this initiative improved building-level insights and supported enhanced energy and facilities management across the organization.

  • CSIRO ESD Policy Integration

We led the integration of ESD principles into CSIRO’s Medium & Major Capital Works Program, overseeing sustainable design assessments, target setting, and procurement alignment. By embedding sustainability into over 1,000 buildings, this initiative ensured long-term environmental performance across capital infrastructure.
